Lucknow,March 17 (ANI):Supporters of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) presented party supremo and chief minister of Uttar Pradesh,Mayawati,with another garland made of cash,which is estimated to be worth 1.8 million rupees.The garland,comprising notes of various denominations,was presented to Mayawati at a party meeting by her party leaders in Lucknow on Wednesday.Mayawati was presented a similar garland made of 1,000-rupee notes,worth millions at a massive party rally on March 15,prompting an outcry by opposition.

Maoists kill CPI M leader in West Midnapore district

The rebels allegedly killed Dolui on suspicion of helping police establish a new joint force camp near Dherua in the state.Around 10-12 armed Maoist cadres came to Dolui's house on Tuesday night and took him away.

ANVC holds first round of talks with central interlocutor

Shillong, March 17 (ANI):The representatives of the banned outfit Achik National Volunteer Council (ANVC),a Garo rebel group demanding autonomy on Tuesday held the first round of talks with the central government interlocutor P C Haldar,in Shillong of Meghalaya.ANVC, a tribal Garo rebel group operating in Meghalaya's Garo Hills region,is fighting for the creation of Garoland Territorial Council.ANVC's spokesperson,Torik Jangning Marak,said that the joint monitoring committee would be meeting again soon to discuss the matter before the ceasefire expires on March 31.

Jairam hopeful of early passage of National Green Tribunal

Suman Ghosh, abducted Civil engineer by Maoists, rescued

Bihar, March 17 (ANI): Civil engineer of a private construction concern, Suman Ghosh who was briefly abducted and detained by the Maoists, was rescued from a remote forest region of Gaya district in Bihar on Tuesday. According to the police officials, heavily armed rebels belonging to the Revolutionary Communist Centre, a banned outfit raided the office of the construction firm at Banahi village and kidnapped Ghosh, after setting the loader machine ablaze.

Firing at Lal Chowk,CRPF jawan killed,three injured

Srinagar,March 16 (ANI):Armed militants striked in Kashmir yet again on Tuesday when they opened fire in Srinagar's busy Lal Chowk area, killing one soldier of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and injuring three others,including one CRPF soldier.The incident occurred around 11:30 am when suspected militants attacked CRPF's patrolling party. The militants reportedly later escaped into the congested streets of the Koker Bazaar locality.Security personnel cordoned off the entire area with a three tier security cover and search operations have been launched to nab the attackers.
